Belt Meanings

White

Signifies innocence, as that of a beginning student with no previous knowledge of CHAMPION KARATE.

Yellow

Signifies Earth, from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the CHAMPION KARATE foundation is being laid.

Orange

Signifies growth, where the CHAMPION KARATE foundation begins to take solid form.

 

Green

Signifies the plant’s growth, as the CHAMPION KARATE skills begin to develop.

 

Blue

Signifies the heavens, towards which the plant mature into a towering tree as training in CHAMPION KARATE progresses.

Red

Signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control, and warning the opponent to stay away.

Black

Opposite of white, therefore signifying the maturity and proficiency of the CHAMPION KARATE style.

Champion Karate Student Creed

I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.

I intend to develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.

I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively.

I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.

Meaning of Tae Kwon Do

We study Tae Kwon Do, which means “the art of hand and foot fighting”, demonstrating the art with discipline, respect, and confidence.
